Judy, my online partner, and I have purchased the website:

Digital Camera Vault: Something good for all your digital camera needs.

Judy and I have purchased a variety of websites since September… some cost only $20, one cost $3,000… Most, however, cost between $50-$300. DigitalCameraVault cost us $135… Here’s a run down of what I saw in the site:

Page Rank - Page Rank for a non Googler is probably mute, but in simple terms, page rank is a score between 0-10 that Google gives pages online. The actual method that Google used to generate this score can be found in the Google patent application online. One caveat, that method has certainly changed since the patent was released, and probably resembles very little of the original filing.

The page rank for this website was 4… importantly however, the internal pages were also ranked…. While this ads some value to the website, the fact that most pages appeared in the supplemental results, reduced the value of this website in my eyes.

AWS Shopping System - Based on the freekai script. We have two other websites at this time using the same script, and have had relative success at achieving direct sales from search engine referred visitors. This is/was the sites sole sorce of income.

Content Availability - I have rights to 20 articles written and devoted to digital photography. Judy and I were going to develop a website anyway with this content, so why not use one that is already indexed, and has an AWS system to boot???

Our plans for the website are to first, have our 20 digital photography articles rewritten… improve the design somewhat of the site (it’s plain for a photography related site), and add additional revenue sources…

I’ll keep everyone posted as we advance the website…
